New Initiative Aims to Foster Youth Talent and Promote Active Lifestyles Through Upgraded Facilities and Tournaments
Abu Dhabi is set to witness a significant upgrade to its public basketball infrastructure as the National Basketball Association (NBA) teams up with ADQ, a prominent Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company. This initiative aims to refurbish several public basketball courts in the capital, enhancing opportunities for community engagement and fostering a healthier lifestyle among residents.
Anas Jawdat Albarguthi, Group Chief Operating Officer at ADQ, expressed the company’s commitment to promoting active living through this initiative. He stated, “The planned refurbishment of basketball courts across Abu Dhabi is part of our commitment to promoting the importance of an active lifestyle.”
The revitalized basketball courts are designed to serve as dynamic training hubs, particularly for the Jr. NBA clinics and various youth basketball programming aimed at young athletes aged six to sixteen. This initiative not only provides essential resources for skill development but also encourages local talent to thrive in a supportive environment.
Additionally, the upgraded venues will play host to the ‘NBA 3X’ 3-on-3 tournaments, offering a vibrant and competitive platform for aspiring players in the region. This tournament format is designed to engage participants and spectators alike, fostering community spirit and excitement around the sport.
Through this partnership, ADQ and the NBA are poised to make a meaningful impact on the youth of Abu Dhabi, creating pathways for athletic development while promoting a culture of health and wellness in the community.
