The UAE has won the bid to host the prestigious COSPAR (Committee on Space Research) 2028, the world’s largest event dedicated to space research. This significant achievement underscores the UAE’s growing influence and commitment to space exploration.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, declared the news on X (formerly Twitter).
He highlighted that this will be the first time COSPAR will be held in the Arab world, further cementing the UAE’s position as a pivotal hub for the global scientific community, particularly in space research.
Sheikh Hamdan noted, “The event will bring together more than 3,000 researchers, experts, and scientists to present and discuss groundbreaking scientific research,” emphasizing the UAE’s role in fostering international cooperation in space. He also expressed gratitude to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) team for their efforts in securing this bid.
