The second day of Dubai Fashion Week’s (DFW) AW 24/25 brought a flurry of excitement and anticipation as the event continued to unfold at the Dubai Design District (d3). Showcasing a diverse array of collections ranging from avant-garde designs to bold transitions, the day was filled with mesmerizing runway moments and creative expressions.
Mrs Keepa x Sotheby’s Collaboration: Kicking off the day’s highlights was the launch of the much-anticipated collaboration between DFW member Mrs Keepa and Sotheby’s Dubai. The “Inhale Collection,” part of Mrs Keepa’s Studio-Couture SS 24 line, mesmerized audiences with avant-garde designs inspired by underwater motifs. Vibrant colors juxtaposed with muted black and beige tones evoked the essence of deep-sea creatures, offering a captivating exploration of escapism through fashion.
Anaya’s ‘La Nuit’ Launch: Transitioning from soft aesthetics to bold reflections, Anaya debuted her ‘La Nuit’ collection, marking a significant departure from the brand’s pastel palette. Drawing inspiration from the postwar glamour of the 1950s, the collection exuded sophistication and elegance reminiscent of iconic figures like Audrey Hepburn. Embracing a monochromatic spectrum with tones of blacks, off-whites, botanical greens, and vibrant reds, Anaya captivated the audience with modern-day interpretations intertwined with vintage flair.
Humariff’s ‘Mirage’ Collection: Humariff’s showcase presented a breathtaking journey through nature’s beauty with the “Mirage” collection. Collaborating with students from the Humariff Academy, the collection seamlessly blended scenic landscapes, blossoming flowers, and the Arabian desert into a monochromatic display of couture elegance. Sequined fabrics shimmered in soft tones of pink, blue, and green, while floral beadwork adorned couture bridal wear, adding a touch of ethereal charm to the runway.
Maison Sara Chraibi’s ‘La Terre’ Collection: Closing the evening was Maison Sara Chraibi’s “La Terre” collection, making its debut at DFW after being featured at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week SS2024. Inspired by Chraibi’s Moroccan roots and reflecting resilience after the 2023 earthquake, the collection paid homage to the intricate details of the Earth. Earthy tones of ochre, russet, and deep purple graced the runway, elevated by opulent gold, bronze, and copper hues, creating a spellbinding fusion of heritage and haute couture.
With each collection offering a unique narrative and artistic vision, Day 2 of Dubai Fashion Week proved to be a celebration of creativity, innovation, and the boundless possibilities of fashion. As the event continues to unfold, audiences eagerly anticipate the unveiling of more inspiring collections and groundbreaking designs, solidifying Dubai’s position as a global fashion capital.
