Elite Paralympic Athletes to Compete in Dubai’s Premier Event, Highlighting the Power of Determination and Excellence

Elite Paralympic Champions from 52 Countries Set to Compete in Season Opener for World Para Athletics Grand Prix

Dubai is set to become a global hub for para-athletics as the 16th Fazza Para Athletics Grand Prix – Dubai 2025 takes center stage from 10-13 February. The prestigious event, a part of the Fazza International Championships for People of Determination, will feature around 400 athletes from 52 countries, showcasing their incredible skill and determination.

The season opener for the 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix calendar, the championships will bring together some of the world’s best para-athletes, including Paralympic and world champions.

Among the top international participants are Switzerland’s wheelchair racing legend Marcel Hug, Belgium’s two-time gold medalist Maxime Carabin, China’s nine-time Paralympic champion Wen Xiaoyan, and multiple gold medallist Wu Qing. The UAE will also have a strong contingent, with 60 para-athletes, including several Paralympic stars and newcomers hoping to gain international classification.

Majid Al-Usaimi, Director of the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Dubai Sports Council for their unwavering support in making this event possible. Al-Usaimi emphasized the importance of a unified vision for fostering champions and achieving national aspirations through para-sports.

With all preparations complete, the event promises to be a fantastic showcase of talent, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
