Sheikh Mohammed Rides Etihad Rail from Dubai to Fujairah, Hails It as a Pillar of UAE’s Future

Dubai, UAE – August 2025 — In a powerful affirmation of the UAE’s vision for nationwide connectivity and sustainable infrastructure, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, personally traveled aboard Etihad Rail, journeying from Dubai to Fujairah to witness the project’s progress firsthand.
The symbolic trip reflects both the strategic importance and the transformative ambition of Etihad Rail, which aims to unite the Emirates through a state-of-the-art railway network, enhancing economic integration and sustainable development across the country.
Describing Etihad Rail as “a vital economic artery that supports the UAE’s journey to the future,” Sheikh Mohammed praised the vision behind the project and applauded the team driving it forward.
“Etihad Rail embodies our national ambition. It connects our cities, boosts our economy, and builds bridges between our people and industries,” he said. “I commend everyone who has contributed to this monumental achievement.”
The journey from Dubai to Fujairah is part of the broader Etihad Rail network, a landmark infrastructure initiative that spans over 1,200 kilometers across the UAE—from the Saudi border in Ghuwaifat to Fujairah on the east coast. Once complete, the network is expected to significantly enhance freight and passenger movement, ease traffic congestion, and reduce carbon emissions by offering a reliable and sustainable alternative to road transport.
Sheikh Mohammed’s ride aboard the train not only demonstrated government endorsement of the project but also highlighted the leadership’s commitment to future-ready mobility solutions.
