Bobby Deol’s Career Revival: From Bollywood’s Resilient Star to South Indian Cinema’s New Antagonist

The actor reflects on his resurgence with roles like Animal’s Abrar Haque and looks forward to his South debut in Kanguva.

Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has emerged stronger than ever, relishing a successful second innings in his acting career. With memorable portrayals of villains such as Abrar Haque in Animal and Baba Nirala in Ashram, Bobby has won over audiences once again with his versatility and emotional depth. After years of navigating the highs and lows of the film industry, his remarkable comeback with Animal last year has breathed new life into his career, and he is savoring every moment of it.

In a candid conversation with ANI, Bobby opened up about this phase in his life, admitting that the journey of an actor is often filled with struggles, but perseverance and positivity make all the difference.

“I just feel very blessed. I feel I’m living a dream. Every actor… it’s always going to be a journey full of struggles. You have to keep working hard, never lose your self-belief, be persistent, and always manifest positivity in your life,” he shared. Reflecting on his rollercoaster career, Bobby emphasized the importance of not giving up and believing in the process, no matter how challenging it may seem.

Having faced both critical acclaim and career setbacks, Bobby’s connection with his fans remains unwavering. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the continuous support he has received, not just for himself, but for his entire family, who have been beloved figures in the Indian film industry for decades.

“My fans have always stood by me, supported my father, my brother, me, and my whole family. And I am… so grateful for their blessings and for their belief in me. So I guess they were all waiting for me to come back with more sincerity and more self-belief. That’s what I’m doing right now,” Bobby added.

Beyond just hard work, Bobby believes in destiny playing a part in success. However, he advocates for a balanced approach, advising actors to work harder rather than dwell on the unpredictable nature of luck. “I think hard work turns into luck. You can’t just keep crying about luck being a factor in your life. The harder you work, it will definitely give you something,” he said.

As he basks in the renewed spotlight in Bollywood, Bobby is ready to take on a new challenge—his debut in the South Indian film industry with Kanguva, a high-budget Tamil film. The actor is set to portray Udhiran, the main antagonist, opposite superstar Suriya. Directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green, the film takes audiences back 1,500 years and showcases an epic battle between Deol’s Udhiran and Suriya’s character. The film, also starring Disha Patani and Natarajan Subramaniam, is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year and is slated to hit theaters on November 14.

With his second innings firmly underway, Bobby Deol has proven that hard work, self-belief, and the courage to evolve can lead to success, even after setbacks. As he continues to impress audiences across industries, there’s no doubt that this phase of his career is just the beginning of a new chapter in his cinematic journey.
