Abu Dhabi Festival 2025 is set to enchant classical music lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike with its spectacular lineup. Kicking off on February 7, this year’s festival will embrace the theme “Abu Dhabi – A World of Harmony,” and will commemorate over 50 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Japan.
The opening performances will feature the prestigious New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, led by renowned conductor Yutaka Sado, accompanied by star tenor Jonathan Tetelman and rising pianist Kyohei Sorita. The two-day event on February 7 and 8 promises an unforgettable experience, showcasing Japan’s rich cultural heritage through its finest musical talent.
Throughout the festival, audiences will be treated to a diverse array of performances, including Inshad spiritual chanting by Sheikh Mahmoud El-Tohamy, traditional Japanese Taiko drumming by KODO, and virtuoso pianist Yunchan Lim’s rendition of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Other highlights include a dazzling opera gala with tenor Javier Camarena and soprano Jessica Pratt, accompanied by the Korean National University of Arts Symphony Orchestra, and a performance by violinist Augustin Hadelich featuring works by Bach.
An All-Star Ballet Gala will also grace the stage, with six of the world’s most acclaimed dancers. The festival will feature outstanding musical performances by cellists Kian Soltani and Pablo Ferrández, percussionist Kuniko Kato, and trumpeter Riley Mulherkar, alongside the Korean National University of Arts Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Chi-Yong Chung, performing works by Brahms and Tchaikovsky.
