After a brief decline in fuel price during June and July, the UAE has seen a slight rise in the cost of petrol and diesel for August 2024.
The updated prices, announced by the UAE federal government through the petroleum firm Emarat, are as follows:
- Super 98: Dhs3.05 per litre (up from Dhs2.99 in July)
- Special 95: Dhs2.93 per litre (up from Dhs2.88 in July)
- E-Plus 91: Dhs2.86 per litre (up from Dhs2.80 in July)
- Diesel: Dhs2.95 per litre (up from Dhs2.89 in July)
These new rates came into effect on August 1, 2024.
The increase in petrol prices may also impact the cost of taxi rides in Dubai, where the per kilometer rate is currently Dhs2.14.

These prices include a 5% VAT and are subject to monthly adjustments based on international oil price trends. The highest recorded price for Super 98 was Dhs4.63 per litre in July 2022.
