Dubai will play a central role in shaping the next 70 years of artificial intelligence with the launch of the “AI@70: Towards a Global Humanity” conference, set for Dubai AI Week 2026. This monumental event, marking the 70th anniversary of the Dartmouth Workshop, promises to bring together top minds from across academia, business, and technology to chart AI’s future trajectory.
Dubai Leads Global Dialogue on AI’s Future
Dubai’s commitment to being at the forefront of AI innovation was reaffirmed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the transformative potential of AI, stressing its ability to reshape society and improve lives. The event will offer an unprecedented platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative exploration, driving positive, inclusive development in AI technology.
Timed to coincide with the historic 70th anniversary of the Dartmouth Workshop, which officially marked the birth of AI as a field of study, the conference is supported by Dartmouth College, the institution behind the original AI discussions in 1956.
The Humanity Lab: Fostering AI’s Next Frontier
As a prelude to the AI@70 conference, the “Humanity Lab” will be launched at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Hosted at the DIFC’s Dubai AI Campus, this eight-week incubator will fuse art, philosophy, and technology to create cutting-edge AI products. The initiative aims to tackle key scientific, ethical, and societal challenges, pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve for humanity.
With DIFC and advisory firm APCO spearheading the organization, the AI@70 conference sets the stage for a bold new era in artificial intelligence, positioning Dubai as the epicenter of AI-driven global development.
