Dr. Naved Fatmi: Redefining Dentistry and Leadership in America

From humble immigrant roots to the youngest President of the Florida Board of Dentistry

Every immigrant family carries a story of sacrifice. For Dr. Naved Fatmi, that story began when his parents arrived in the United States with little more than hope, faith, and the dream of a better future for their children. Growing up Muslim in America, he learned early that ambition must always be grounded in gratitude, accountability, and service to others.

A Calling Beyond Dentistry

Dentistry became Dr. Fatmi’s profession, but it was never just about teeth. It became a pathway to leadership, community building, and meaningful impact. Today, he leads multiple dental practices across Palm Beach County, Florida. Yet, his greatest source of pride isn’t measured in the number of offices, but in the growth of his team, the students he mentors, and the opportunities he creates through externships and shadowing programs for the next generation.

Overcoming Setbacks

Dr. Fatmi’s journey was far from linear. He faced rejection after applying to dental school twice before finally being accepted. In his second year, he came close to failing out. These early setbacks could have marked the end of his story—but instead, they became the foundation of his perseverance. At just 32, he made history as the youngest member ever appointed to the Florida Board of Dentistry, later rising to become its youngest president. For him, these milestones were not just personal victories but reminders that setbacks are lessons, not roadblocks.

Redefining Leadership

Beyond titles, Dr. Fatmi has embraced leadership as service. As a national speaker, he shares insights on building culture, treatment planning, and navigating the business side of dentistry. As faculty at several institutions, he shapes the future of the profession by guiding and inspiring young professionals. And through the A & N Foundation, his nonprofit initiative, he extends his service beyond dentistry, meeting the broader needs of his community.

A Principle to Live By

Throughout his journey, Dr. Fatmi has carried one guiding principle:

“Life without serving others is hollow.”

For him, true success isn’t defined by material milestones but by the impact left behind—the people lifted, the opportunities created, and the lives transformed.

A Message to Leaders Everywhere

To entrepreneurs and business leaders, Dr. Fatmi’s story carries a powerful message: success should never end with oneself. “No matter your industry, no matter your definition of success, always look beyond yourself,” he shares. “Your true legacy lies not only in what you build, but in how many people rise because you chose to serve.”
