Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) has once again captivated the global fashion scene with its autumn/winter 24/25 edition, reaffirming the city’s position as a beacon of creativity and innovation in the fashion world. From breathtaking runway shows to exclusive collaborations and events, DFW showcased the best of both Arab and international design talent, solidifying its status as a must-attend event on the global fashion calendar.
Evolution into a Global Fashion Hub DFW traces its roots back to the Arab Fashion Week and has since evolved into a global phenomenon. In February 2023, DFW was established as the region’s official fashion week, signaling Dubai’s ambition to rival established fashion capitals like New York, London, Paris, and Milan. With a new venue at Dubai Design District (d3) and expanded programming across the city, DFW has emerged as a key player in the global fashion landscape, attracting buyers, media, celebrities, and industry insiders from around the world.
A Showcase of Creativity and Diversity The autumn/winter 24/25 edition of DFW kicked off with a bang, featuring renowned design duo Rizman Ruzaini and culminating with a stunning showcase by d3-based label Designers & Us. Throughout the five-day event, designers from across the globe took center stage, presenting their latest collections and pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.
Highlights included Maison Sara Chraibi’s debut at DFW, Michael Cinco’s celebration of cultural diversity, and collaborations between designers and emerging talent, such as Tamam Humariff’s collaboration with students from the Humariff Academy. Each runway show was a testament to the rich tapestry of styles and influences that define the global fashion landscape.
A Platform for Emerging Talent DFW has always been committed to nurturing emerging talent alongside established designers. This edition featured a range of initiatives aimed at supporting up-and-coming designers, including showcases by fashion graduates and collaborations with industry mentors. Notable highlights included Emergency Room Beirut’s sustainable collection in collaboration with Nothing and Zeena Zaki’s immersive showcase of her Ramadan 2024 collection at the Palazzo Versace.
Looking Ahead As DFW continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to its mission of celebrating creativity, fostering innovation, and providing a platform for both established and emerging designers. With each edition, DFW cements its status as a global fashion hub, driving forward the narrative of Dubai as a city at the forefront of the fashion industry.
As Tarek Derke, Founder and CEO of Designers & Us, aptly puts it, “Being part of the Dubai Fashion Week family is an unforgettable experience, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and growth ahead.” With its unwavering commitment to excellence, DFW is poised to shape the future of fashion for years to come.
