Olympic gold medallists, Grand Slam champions, and top-ranked tennis stars to take the stage at Etihad Arena from December 19 to 22
The World Tennis League (WTL) is gearing up for its most exciting season yet, bringing together a stellar line-up of tennis superstars for its third edition, set to take place at the iconic Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi, from December 19 to 22, 2024.
In partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), and Miral, this year’s event, dubbed ‘The Greatest Show on Court,’ promises to be a thrilling spectacle with some of the biggest names in the sport battling for glory. With two Olympic gold medallists, five Grand Slam champions, and an impressive roster of six of the top 12 male players and six of the top 10 female players, fans are in for an unforgettable experience.
Making their debut at the World Tennis League 2024 are some of tennis’ brightest stars, including the 2024 Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejčíková (Women’s World No. 10) and Jasmine Paolini (Women’s World No. 5), who also recently clinched the Women’s Doubles Gold Medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Returning for another thrilling season are tennis powerhouses like World No. 1 Iga Świątek, who added a third consecutive French Open title to her accolades this year, and Aryna Sabalenka (Women’s World No. 2), fresh off her US Open triumph. Fans will also be excited to see top players such as Elena Rybakina (Women’s World No. 4), Paula Badosa (Women’s World No. 19), and Caroline Garcia (Women’s World No. 36) back in action.
On the men’s side, the competition will be fierce, with Daniil Medvedev (Men’s World No. 5) and Andrey Rublev (Men’s World No. 6), members of the WTL 2023 title-winning team PBG Eagles, set to return to the courts. They’ll be joined by 2024 US Open runner-up Taylor Fritz (Men’s World No. 7), Hubert Hurkacz (Men’s World No. 8), and Casper Ruud (Men’s World No. 9), among others.
Fan-favorite Stefanos Tsitsipas (Men’s World No. 12), India’s rising star Sumit Nagal (Men’s World No. 83), and the ever-entertaining Nick Kyrgios will also make their much-anticipated return to the WTL.
The previous edition of the World Tennis League drew over 20,000 spectators and was broadcast live in more than 125 countries, solidifying its place as one of the world’s premier sporting events. This year, WTL 2024 is set to raise the bar even higher, with not only world-class tennis but also incredible live performances by top artists at Yas Island, making it a complete entertainment experience.
